The federal immigration system of Canada – Express Entry, at the present time, is the main selective company, the main source of selection of the potential immigrants out of the number of all candidates for immigration to Canada on the federal and provincial levels.
This system is intended to attract highly qualified candidates with high level of the education, work experience, knowledge of language and with other criteria, which are necessary for successful adaptation in Canada after receiving the immigration documents.
Patrick Macaway, the head of the express lodging department of the Ministry of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship of Canada (IRCC), informed that under his leadership the general analysis of work of the system for the last two years was carried out which was aimed at outlining the disadvantages and advantages of work of the federal selection program.
The members of the Ministry pointed out that, in general, the selection system which replaced the previous programs fully justifies its implementation in 2017 and minister claimed that this current program increases the pace of the admission and overview of the immigration applications.

It is also mentioned that the course of Canadian government is being realized for increasing of admission of the immigrants and its aim is making the whole number of candidates up to million during the next years. There is the perspective of changing a number of criteria according to which annual selection sessions will increase the selection of the potential immigrants. In particular, there will be an opportunity to shortlist those candidates who didn’t have the lowest passing score but correspond to the main criteria.
Mr. Macaway also pointed out the improvements of the system, such as the reduction of terms of handling of the applications, which for now are less than six months, and general transparency of the system. He also emphasized the development of closer cooperation between the federal selection system Express Entry with the provincial immigration system of Canada which the government of Canada plans to expand giving the opportunity for the provincial services choose the candidates from their provinces.
Mr. Macaway also mentioned that whole number of admitted immigration applications has significantly increased. For May, 24 2018 there has been 83 111 candidates.
